A few more kitchen updates

I added a few more things to the kitchen this afternoon when I got home. Then I had to do those fun things like fix something to eat and some additional cleaning. It was snowing when I got home so their is always the hope of a snow day, oh how I could use a snow day to get things put back in order.

Donna at Funky Junk wants to see more of my door, I am beyond words at how excited I was to have a comment from Ms. Funky Junk herself posted on my blog. 

So here are more pictures of my door and a few things that I added. I hope you like them.

Can I just say how much I hate that air return, but my mind is already spinning with ideas to camouflage that.

I'm not sure if this is how I plan on leaving things so it may not look like this next time I post. Once I get some of the other things back in my kitchen I will be able to decide if I want to add or move somethings around. If I get a snow day I will be posting more updates, if no snow day the updates will be a little slower coming.

I am new to the blogging and would love to have you as a follower. 

I have been working on my kitchen as part of one of my new years goals to focus on my home and all those projects I have been wanting to do.

Finally my kitchen is ready for me to begin putting things back in order. The walls and trim work have been given a fresh coat of paint, outlet covers are all nice and clean, and all of the holes have been filled. All of this just in time to participate in a Blog Challenge.

I am new to the blog world as far as participating however I have been a stalker FAN of Donna at Funky Junk Interiors for a while now.

I was telling my son I had found a fellow Junker and showed him Donna's blog, his response was "Oh you like her because she has stuff like you." So when I saw the Copy Cat Challenge I was so excited but it's more like kindred spirits than a copy cat. 

Then I realized my house is a total wreck and all my stuff is everywhere except where it should be. So what's a girl to do?

I started by going out and getting my old wood door and then continued adding all my favorite things. I am no where near having everything the way I want it, but I didn't want to miss out on the challenge. (Especially since junk is my thing)

The following pictures are some of the things that I was able to get pull together. I will post some more pictures later of a complete kitchen reveal but these are for the challenge. I hope you enjoy my funky junk style.

A few wrinkles from being stored.

This was used to draw water from a well. When I was a little girl my grandpa would use one like this to draw water up. I always wanted to help pull it up and my favorite part was getting to pull the release and letting the water go in the bucket. Best water you ever tasted!

1st 2011 project

I have decided that my first project for 2011 will be painting my kitchen. I like the color I have now but it has places that have scuffs and holes where I have moved pictures. So a fresh coat of paint is coming up for the kitchen. The hardest thing is deciding what color I am going to paint it.
I spent most of Saturday taking things off of the walls and putting away a few more decorations. I am just putting the decorations in my bonus room for now because I have to go back to work and I want to put them away a little more organized. I don't know about anyone else but I have to much and things have been stored everywhere because I get busy and then just put it where ever I can get it. In order to simplify I have looked in all of those hiding places and everything that was Christmas has been placed together. Now to go through everything and get it packed up nice and neat.
I have also been using my bonus room as a holding place for some other things that have been put on hold way to long. It has been great to get everything that should be stored together placed in designated areas and I know it will make getting things organized much easier. I have taken before pictures and will post some after pictures later.
